This is for all medics, nurses, Blackhawk aircrew and pilots. There is an immense amount of resources that go into taking care of patients in war. Most of which includes getting the patients to the next level of care - from the battlefield, to the FST. From the FST to Bagram Airfield (in Afghanistan). Next, all patients from both Iraq and Afghanistan move out by C17 to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. Finally, if necessary they make the trip back to the United States to a few different hospitals such as Walter Reed or Brooke Army Medical Center. All of this can happen in as little as a few days to as long as a number of months, depending on a variety of factors.
